Implementation of an advanced monitoring system with intelligent video analysis

Challenges and needs

As an institution of such high importance, Jagiellonian University required an advanced and reliable monitoring system to ensure campus safety and facilitate the management of a large number of people and resources.

System specifications

The system consists of several servers, including a redundant server to ensure operational reliability. It supports up to 1,000 cameras and employs video analysis, including license plate recognition, to enable precise monitoring and security management.

Flexibility and scalability

As an open platform, the VDG Sense system offers the client the flexibility to use hardware from various manufacturers, such as Siqura, Hanwha Vision, GeoVision, and others. Its scalability has allowed the system to evolve over the years, accommodating renovations and the development of new facilities like the Faculty of Physics, the Sports Center, and multiple campuses. The system adapts seamlessly to the client’s needs.

University parking management

For Jagiellonian University, C&C Partners delivered a parking management solution based on license plate recognition using VDG Sense. Cameras installed at the university parking facilities allow for automated entry control through license plate reading, significantly improving traffic organization and enhancing campus safety.

Collaboration and development

We have been collaborating with Jagiellonian University for years. The first implementation of the monitoring system with intelligent video analysis took place in 2019. Since then, we have been consistently providing cameras and servers for image analysis in newly modernized buildings. The university is a highly conscious IT solutions user, emphasizing cybersecurity by regularly updating the VDG Sense video analysis system in compliance with NIS 2 regulations.
